10:15-11am | Vital Communications During Disasters

West Slope Foundation logo

In coordination with the West Slope Foundation, Bob Hess, the Community Emergency Radio Associations' Chair, will be sharing vital information about how El Dorado County West Slope residents can use two-way radios as a backup communications solution.

Bob will discuss CERA's free services and programs, including access to CERA's radio repeater network, Neighborhood Radio Watch program, and training courses and access to low-cost, commercial-grade radios which are programmed for free by CERA's radio team.

Given the spate of wildfires that have erupted in El Dorado and surrounding counties over the last couple of months and how power is deliberately shut off in active wildfire areas, this talk is very timely for residents who could lose vital communication access when cell and internet services are not available.

This meeting will be held at 8171 Mount Aukum Road, Suite 103, Mount Aukum, CA 95656.
