The topic is focused on Wildfire Behavior and will include practical advice on how to keep people and property safe before and during wildfire disasters.

Bob Hess, Chair and Gary Boal, Vice President of CERA's Neighborhood Radio Watch Board will be meeting with the El Dorado County Resource Conservation District to discuss Placerville's wildfire resilience strategy the role the Community Emergency Radio's Association radio program can play in helping to keep residents informed and safe during emergencies.

CERA will have a booth at this year’s Placerville National Night Out to answer questions about the Neighborhood Radio Watch program and the El Dorado County Amateur Radio Club.

This course is Part 2 of a 2-part course that includes in-person practice drills and testing for those who meet the course prerequisites and attend Part 1 of the course. This class will be held in the El Dorado County Sheriff's Community Room at 200 Industrial Dr, Placerville, CA 95667.

Members of the El Dorado County Amateur Radio Club (EDCARC) will be volunteering their time and using their Amateur Radio Emergency Service (ARES) skills to provide radio communications support at select locations along the 2024 Tevis Cup trail.

The Cosumnes/Oak Hill Neighborhood Radio Watch group will be gathering for an in-person meet and greet in Pioneer Park at 6740 Fairplay Rd in Somerset, California. Many residents in both communities hear each other during the radio safety net every Tuesday at 6:30PM but have never had the opportunity to meet face-to-face and get to know each other in person. 

CERA will be a delivering a special training session for Mosquito residents who are interested in joining the more recently formed Mosquito Neighborhood Radio Watch group.  Training topics will include Basic Radio Usage, Wildfire Behavior,  Scanners 101, and Net Operations.

The Community Emergency Radio Association is extremely honored to be selected by the Women's Fund El Dorado Grant Committee to move onto the next round of consideration for our grant application for a backup generator to add resiliency and harden our radio repeater that services the Pollock Pines-Camino areas.
